Also, in a study over three months, drinking the tea resulted in weight loss for participants. However, that was only one study and didn’t prove much!
Weight loss is the goal of many people, but not all of them are successful. For example, let’s shift our focus for the moment to dietary supplements. Those supplements get sold to the public, but do they work? The Mayo Clinic reported that companies that produce supplements do clinical trials rarely. And since the FDA doesn’t need to approve them, it’s somewhat easier for them to get around scrutiny.
Many companies put out supplements in the market, claiming weight loss. For example, this happened with raspberry ketone. However, only one clinical trial supported that claim. In short, the trial included 70 people who were obese. Moreover, all got placed on a diet and exercise program. Randomly, some received raspberry ketone supplements, and others a placebo. The supplements also included caffeine, ginger, bitter orange, and garlic root extract. Those in the supplement group lost 4.2 on average, and those with the placebo lost 0.9 pounds. However, this was a single study, and other factors could have contributed to the weight loss!

People struggling with weight often have a difficult time sticking to a diet, which is why they might find it helpful to turn to weight loss diets that are more restrictive. Some people who try to lose weight may want to try out meal replacement shakes. These shakes are typically high in protein and low in calories. And that might work for people who need to watch their caloric intake while still getting enough protein.
It’s also essential for some people who want to lose weight to know if they use supplements or medication and have any underlying conditions; they have to be careful. It could cause difficulty with absorbing nutrients from food or managing blood sugar levels. In other words, losing weight is a difficult task. Also, it’s not so cut and dry from one person to the next—depending on underlying issues, health, age, etc. And that’s why weight loss is discouraging, and more so if people don’t see any progress.
